TNUS was established in 2002 and is one of 10 educational institutions of Thai Nguyen University. 

University of Sciences has the mission of training graduate and undergraduate students in different fields of natural and social sciences such as Law, Tourism, Journalism, Social Work, Science Management, Literature, Vietnamese Studies, History, Information Geography, Library, English Language, Natural Resources & Environment Management, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths & Informatics. Especially, we offer high-quality programs including Laboratory Engineering, Bio-medical Technology (in Biotechnology), Hotel & Resort Administration (in Tourism), and Law Services (in Law). We have master-degree courses of Applied Mathematics, Primary Mathematics, Optics, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Vietnamese Literature, Natural Resources & Environment Management, and Vietnamese Communist Party History. We are giving doctoral courses in Algebra & Number Theory, Biological Chemistry and Applied Mathematics. 

WHY TNUS?

The university has been the choice of many Vietnamese and foreign students for their tertiary education. This can be seen in the yearly increasing student number enrolled.

Our university has been recognized for education verification. On January 3rd 2018, the university was accredited to the Certificate of Education Quality. This is the significant milestone, identifying the university as an advanced training institution of multi-fields, international integration, meeting the demands of national industrialization and modernization.

The training programs are new, advanced and regularly updated. The University is interested in making high-quality programs with frequent review and close connection with the consultants, enterprises and foreign partners to prepare the students with knowledge, professional skills to meet the requirements of the demands of the society with particular outcome standards. We are running 18 undergraduate majors in 31 training programs, 03 qualified-oriented majors, 08 graduate majors and 03 doctoral majors.

We have a team of stuffs who are experienced, qualified and skillful in teaching methods. As the leading team for the international publications (on ISI/SCOPUS lists) of TNU, the lecturer stuff team is the University strong point in the training and doing research (with the average 40-60 ISI prestigious international publications per year).

Viewing the students as the focus of training, we tend to combine the lessons with practices to encourage their self-learning, creativeness and the open - mindedness among them. Frequent visits and probations to the localities, enterprises and businesses help students with their knowledge, job adaptation and profession consciousness in the present changing and dynamic world.

The University creates an internationally academic and multi- national environment for the students. Every year, we receive many delegations of students, PhD students and apprentices from different countries (China, Taiwan, Serbia, Japan, Germany, Spain, Laos etc.) who come for undergraduate and graduate training, practice and cultural exchanges. And Vietnamese students also have chances to go abroad for study, probation and exchange world-wide.

The university owns furnished campus. The system of main laboratories has been completed for Bio-technology and Environment (more than VND 35 billions) and Nano and Medical-biology (more than VND 27 billions).

Besides, the University built a modern hostel area for international students with equipment such as heaters, furniture and a free internet system. The University develops the relationship with advanced universities all over the world; exchanging the students and lecturers with foreign universities; providing foreign study tours for the Vietnamese students in accordance with co-operative training programs.
